Different departments within the airline including Engineering, Cabin Crew, Human Resources, Marketing and others will have the opportunity to show case what each department does. Career information on Air Niugini’s pilot and engineering cadet programs as well as other areas within the airline will be provided. It’s an opportunity for students to attend and find out more about the job opportunities within the airline.

Mr Foo said “It’s an opportunity for the public, especially students to come along, ask questions and get first-hand information on future career with Air Niugini.”

Air Niugini’s partners both here and abroad will also join the airline during the open day. They include PNG Tourism Promotion Authority (PNGTPA), PNG Air Services Limited, National Airports Corporation(NAC), Air Niugini Savings and Loans Society, Eagle Flight Training Ltd in Auckland, New Zealand, Advance Aviation Training Ltd-Fiji, Professional Pilot Training- Coffs Harbor, Australia and Continental Aero Flying School in Cebu, Philippines.

Total 49 staff members will receive their awards this year after clocking in 25, 30, 35 and 40 years respectively with Air Niugini.

Air Niugini commenced operations on 01st November 1973 when the first Fokker F27 Friendship lifted off Jacksons Airport on a flight to Lae, Rabaul and Kieta.
